In kitchen design, it’s easy to trust a professional with whom collaboration is seamless. We have had good experiences with DAVANTI / Jouni Heinonen’s design expertise in two previous kitchen projects. A top-tier kitchen designer has the skill to adapt the design to the needs of different businesses and kitchens, whether the culinary world is Casual or Fine Dining. Jouni reacts exceptionally well to challenges that arise during projects and finds the solutions that best serve us. I particularly appreciate how the design process is initiated and how it is carried through to completion. Jouni has a remarkably good understanding of the needs of restaurant kitchens and everyday kitchen operations.

Tommi Tuominen has also co-founded the restaurant Finnjävel. Tuominen’s other rooftop restaurant, Ravintola Toppa, is located near the Helsinki Market Square. Jouni Heinonen served as the kitchen designer for both projects.

The kitchen design for Demo was executed with meticulous care from start to finish. The completed kitchen is close to my dream kitchen – it’s functional and efficient. Everything in the kitchen is in the right place and at the right height, and easily within reach.

A completely open kitchen for the customers is visually stunning. Demo is located on the 14th panoramic floor of a commercial building, and its six-meter high glass walls offer stunning views of the sea and the city. As evening darkens, customers’ gazes turn towards the kitchen instead of the scenery, so its appearance was important to invest in. Designing the open kitchen to harmonize with the building’s shape and seamlessly integrating the boundary between the open kitchen and the dining area required close collaboration between the kitchen designer, interior architect, and contractor – Jouni was an active participant and the point of contact in this process as well.

Jouni’s interest in the overall functionality even after the kitchen is completed also speaks volumes about his professional attitude. All aspects here align with the needs discussed during the planning phase, so there has been very little need for changes.
